Locate your sensors correctly so your intruder alarm works.

When you are having your sensor placed remember to avoid having them
facing a window.
The reflection on a window can cause the alarm to trigger falsely.

Have holes filled in both the intruder alarm and its sensors

When having your alarm installed or if installing by yourself, make sure you
fill in any holes made to the control box or any accessories.

For example if you have a sensor with a hole in the back of it, where the cable
enters it is very likely that a spider could enter the same hole and crawl on the
PIR causing it not to detect. Also it can cause false alarms.

Check connections in your intruder alarm and other parts

This is the most common fault I have found with new installations, it is poor
connections and termination of cables.

Make sure that cables are secured correctly and tightened to avoid cable from
coming out and showing a fault in the system.
This is simple but so many people forget.
