What You Can Do To Save Money On Lighting And Improve Your Emergency Lighting
Emergency Lighting and Lighting - What To Do #1
Reduce your emergency lighting and normal lights bulbs
Replace light bulbs for energy efficient bulbs like compact florescent or even
LED lights.
These light fittings cost a fraction too run compare to standard 100 watt
tungsten halogen bulbs.
Also don’t forget SWITCH OFF LIGHTS WHEN NOT IN THE ROOM. This is
something really hard so you can have your light switch changed for a timed
one which will automatically cut of the lights after a certain length of time.
Emergency Lighting and Lighting - What To Do #2
How to improve your emergency lighting
Whenever you have work carried out in your property try avoid turning all the
power off which should cause your emergency lighting to come on. Or just try
to avoid switching the emergency lighting circuit off and if you can’t avoid
that then remove the bulbs in the emergency light fitting unless you have
turned of the power to carry out maintenance checks on your lights.
The reason we recommend this is because when you turn off the power the
batteries charge is used to supply the fitting with power and the light comes
on. Because of the battery the fluorescent tube tend to start turning black on
the ends and wear away.
Also if they become black they should be replaced to comply with regulations.
